TAMPA, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are on the hunt for brazen highway shooters who terrorized drivers on I-4 and US-301 early Sunday morning, May 11th, leaving behind damaged vehicles and a trail of unanswered questions.
Troopers say the occupants of a Ford Edge were traveling on I-4 when a dark-colored sedan pulled alongside their vehicle. Authorities said that individuals inside the sedan opened fire on the Ford Edge. Fortunately, despite the vehicle being struck, the occupants escaped injury from the gunfire.

The suspect vehicle then maneuvered behind a Chevy Tahoe, which exited I-4 onto US-301. The assailants continued their attack, firing upon the Tahoe as it traveled on US-301.
The Chevy Tahoe continued northbound on US-301 until it collided with a utility pole in the vicinity of Franklin Road.
Following the crash, the occupants of the Tahoe fled the scene on foot. Two masked individuals from the dark-colored sedan also exited their vehicle and pursued the occupants of the Tahoe on foot.
Despite the intense chase, the occupants of the Tahoe were able to evade the masked gunmen. They sustained only minor injuries as a result of the vehicle collision.
