Fugitive Wanted For Threatning To Kill New Jersey Governor Nabbed In Florida

A 53-year-old New Jersey man, wanted for allegedly making terroristic threats against New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, was apprehended in Florida last weekend by the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Russ Semeran was taken into custody on Sunday in Walton County after a member of the U.S. Marshals Task Force saw him riding his motorcycle on Phillips Drive in Freeport. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted, leading to Semeran’s arrest.

Semeran was wanted by the New Jersey State Police Counter Terrorism Bureau for allegedly threatening to kill Governor Phil Murphy. He is currently being held at the Walton County Jail, awaiting extradition back to New Jersey.

Following his arrest, Semeran’s motorcycle, along with an SUV and an RV belonging to him, were all impounded and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
