PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Largo man employed at a group home for disabled adults in unincorporated Clearwater has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged battery of two residents. Travis Crayton, 27, faces two counts of abuse of an elderly/disabled adult.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office began its investigation on May 2, 2025, after receiving a report of an employee battering residents at the Live Oak Group Home, located at 2327 Curlew Avenue.

According to investigators, Crayton is accused of assaulting two male residents, both of whom suffer from severe cognitive disabilities. One of the alleged victims is also deaf and non-verbal.
A witness, also an employee at the group home, reported observing the incidents. The witness stated that Crayton grabbed one victim around the head, squeezing his skull with his hands and fingers for approximately ten minutes. Crayton then allegedly knocked on the same victim’s head twice with a closed fist.

The witness further reported that Crayton approached a second disabled resident who was lying on a couch in the living room. Crayton is accused of placing his knee on this victim’s head, pushing him down into the couch.
Following the investigation, deputies arrested Travis Crayton on Wednesday. He was subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
