HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office arrested a parole violator during a prisoner transport assist.
Francisco Figueroa, a registered sex offender, was found to be in violation of his parole after the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Services (DC PPS) notified Detective G. Marcacci.
Figueroa’s violation stemmed from using an unregistered social media account on his personal cell phone. As a condition of his parole, Figueroa is required to allow searches of all electronic devices.

Following notification, Detective Marcacci obtained and executed a search warrant for the smartphone. The warrant confirmed Figueroa’s use of the unreported social media account.
On July 1st, 2024, Detective Marcacci interviewed Figueroa, currently incarcerated at the Hernando County Detention Center. After being read his Miranda rights, Figueroa admitted to owning and using the unregistered account.
Figueroa’s arrest stems from a violation of sex offender reporting requirements, specifically “Failure to Report Internet Identifier Account.” He is currently held without bond.
