TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to a house fire in Tampa early Saturday morning, tackling heavy flames that had consumed both a primary residence and an attached addition.
The incident occurred at 12521 Pittsfield Avenue, prompting multiple 911 calls to the county’s Emergency Dispatch Communications center starting at 5:15 AM.

The first engine arrived at the scene to find intense flames and substantial smoke pouring from the home. Firefighters quickly identified that the fire had extended to a second structure, an addition located at the rear of the property, presenting an immediate challenge with two separate areas of active burning.
Fire crews launched an interior attack on both structures, working to limit the fire’s progression. Simultaneous searches were conducted throughout both the main house and the addition, confirming that no occupants were inside either building at the time of the blaze.

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries sustained by any civilians or the first responders who battled the flames.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Hillsborough County Fire Investigations Unit is currently on-site, working to determine the fire’s origin.
