BRANDON, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) successfully and swiftly contained a residential structure fire early this morning in the Brandon area, preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of all occupants, including the family’s beloved feline companions.
At approximately 12:27 AM on Friday, May 30, 2025, HCFR’s Emergency Dispatch Communications Center began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at a single-family home located at 705 Caliente Drive.
Upon arrival, the first engine crew on scene was met with heavy flames and thick smoke emanating from the roof of the residence. Without hesitation, firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack.

Their rapid and coordinated efforts brought the fire under control within an impressive 15 minutes.
A thorough search of the structure confirmed that all human residents had safely evacuated the premises before HCFR units arrived. During the search, firefighters also located and successfully rescued the family’s cats, bringing them to safety. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among civilians, pets, or emergency personnel.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by HCFR’s specialized Fire Investigations Unit.
