HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County should prepare for a temporary overnight closure of the ramp to the Selmon Expressway (Exit 256) this week. The closure is scheduled from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, to 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, weather permitting.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced that this temporary ramp closure is a necessary measure for ongoing concrete pavement repairs along I-75. The current phase of repairs extends from Progress Boulevard to Woodberry Road in Hillsborough County.

During the closure, drivers needing to access the Selmon Expressway from northbound I-75 will be directed to use a designated detour. Motorists will need to continue on northbound I-75 to Exit 257, then turn left onto State Road 60. From SR 60, drivers will make another left onto Faulkenburg Road and follow signs to proceed toward the Selmon Expressway entrance ramp.
To guide drivers through the altered route, electronic message boards and additional signage will be strategically placed in the area.

Officials urge motorists to exercise increased caution when driving through the work zone. Drivers should remain alert for the presence of construction workers and adhere to all posted speed limits and traffic instructions.
The nightly repairs are part of a larger project aimed at improving the roadway surface and ensuring the long-term safety and reliability of this crucial segment of Interstate 75.
