HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists in Hillsborough County should prepare for a series of overnight lane closures on major interstates and state roads beginning Tuesday, May 27th, and continuing through Saturday, May 31st, 2025.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has released its lane closure summary for the week, detailing various construction and maintenance activities that will impact travel primarily during late-night and early-morning hours.
Commuters are advised to review the scheduled closures and plan their routes accordingly to avoid potential delays.

Key routes affected include sections of I-4, I-75, and I-275, along with several US highways and state roads. Most of the work is scheduled to occur between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Interstate Lane Closures:
- I-4:
- Westbound from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) to 50th Street: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Thursday, May 29th, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- From County Line Road to McIntosh Road: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Thursday, May 29th, 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- I-75:
- From Progress Boulevard to Woodberry Road: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Friday, May 30th, 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- At the SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) interchange: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 31st, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Southbound from Fowler Avenue to SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard): Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Friday, May 30th, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Note: This lane closure will be ongoing Monday through Friday until July 3rd).
- I-275 (Howard Frankland Bridge): Between Hillsborough and Pinellas counties: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 31st, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-275: Between I-4 and Floribraska Avenue: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Thursday, May 29th, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
US Highway Lane Closures:
- US 41B (Highland Avenue): Southbound from Violet Street to SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard): Continuous lane closure starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27th, and continuing overnight to 7 a.m. through Friday, May 30th.
- US 41 (Florida Avenue/Tampa Street): From Kennedy Boulevard to Bearss Avenue: Daily lane closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 31st, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- US 92 (Hillsborough Avenue): From SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) to I-4: Daily lane closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 31st, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- US 301:
- From Wildgrass Meadow Drive to Simmons Loop: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Thursday, May 29th, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- At Ayersworth Glen Boulevard: Daily lane closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Friday, May 30th, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Northbound, north of Rhodine Road: Continuous 24-hour per day lane closure starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27th, through Friday, May 30th.
State Road Lane Closures:
- SR 60 (Memorial Highway): Westbound from George J. Bean Parkway to SR 589 (Veterans Expressway): Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Thursday, May 29th, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- SR 60: From SR 39 to Clarence Gordon Jr Road: Daily lane closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Friday, May 30th, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard): From Dale Mabry to I-4: Daily lane closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 31st, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- SR 582 (Fowler Avenue): From 51st Street to Riverhills Drive: Nightly closures from Tuesday, May 27th through Thursday, May 29th, 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
FDOT reminds drivers to use caution when traveling through work zones, be aware of workers and equipment, and to follow all posted signage. Schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
