Following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday that the Federal Bureau of Prisons must continue to provide hormone therapy and social accommodations to hundreds of transgender inmates.
This ruling comes after a disruption in medical treatment for these inmates.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth stated that a federal law prevents prison officials from arbitrarily depriving inmates of medications and other lifestyle accommodations that have been deemed appropriate by their medical staff.
This decision is a legal obligation of the Bureau of Prisons to continue providing care for transgender inmates as determined by medical professionals.
