POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Kissimmee couple has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of residential burglaries that plagued the Poinciana area between mid-April and early May.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) took Trenton Michael Watkins, 41, and Rachel Marie Perez, 39, into custody on the morning of Wednesday, May 6th. Authorities attribute multiple burglaries occurring between April 18th and May 5th to the pair.

According to PCSO, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday on a white Ford Escape believed to have been used by the suspects during the burglaries. Rachel Perez was reportedly driving the vehicle and was found to be operating it without a valid driver’s license or motor vehicle insurance. During the stop, deputies also discovered methamphetamine inside the vehicle.  

The subsequent investigation revealed that Watkins and Perez allegedly stole several appliances from the residences and subsequently sold them. Detectives have successfully recovered some of the stolen items and are actively working to locate and recover the remaining property.

Trenton Michael Watkins faces a litany of charges, including four counts of Burglary of a Residence, four counts of Grand Theft from a Dwelling, Dealing in Stolen Property, four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, False Owner Information to a Pawnshop, four counts of Traveling Across County Lines in Commission of a Crime, Violation of Probation (VOP), Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  

Rachel Marie Perez has been charged with Burglary of a Residence, Grand Theft from a Dwelling, Dealing in Stolen Property, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Traveling Across County Lines in Commission of a Crime, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR), and Possession of Methamphetamine.
