POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Tuesday trip to the Mulberry Walmart ended in an arrest for a Lakeland man who allegedly attempted to make off with over $100 worth of merchandise. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), 34-year-old Killian Jacob Kreier now faces a charge of retail theft following an incident on May 6th.
Store security at the Mulberry location contacted PCSO deputies after observing Kreier allegedly stealing $116.77 in goods.

Upon attempting to leave the store, Kreier was stopped by an employee who asked him to present his receipt. Initially claiming to have it, he reportedly failed to produce it. When asked a second time, Kreier allegedly stated, “It’s on my phone,” and continued to walk out of the store.
The Walmart employee photographed the suspect’s blue/purple Toyota Tacoma vehicle. The image captured the last three characters of the license plate.
Deputies were able to identify the vehicle’s registered owner as Killian Jacob Kreier of Lakeland. Later, deputies located Kreier riding his bicycle near his residence and initiated a stop to inquire about the alleged theft.

Kreier reportedly denied any involvement, claiming he had purchased the items through the Walmart mobile application. However, when asked to show proof via the app, Kreier was unable to log in and claimed he did not know his password.
Deputies arrested Kreier and transported him to the Polk County Jail, where he was charged with retail theft.
