LAKELAND, Fla. – A 23-year-old Lakeland man is facing multiple charges after being identified as the suspect in several recent burglaries. Ronald Floyd was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on Friday, May 16th.
According to PCSO, detectives had been investigating a series of burglaries that occurred over several days. In an effort to identify the suspect, detectives released security video footage to social media that captured the individual during an attempted burglary. Notably, the suspect in the video was wearing a distinctive Looney Tunes jacket.

The public appeal proved effective when a “good citizen” recognized the individual in the video and contacted Heartland Crime Stoppers with information leading to the suspect’s identification as Ronald Floyd.
When detectives made contact with Floyd, he reportedly confessed to the crimes. He also provided information to detectives regarding the location of stolen property.

Ronald Floyd remains in the Polk County Jail. He is currently facing charges for six counts of attempted burglary of a conveyance (with mask enhancement), two counts of burglary of a conveyance (with mask enhancement), and two counts of felony petit theft.
