LAKELAND, Fla. – A Lakeland man found himself in trouble with the law after allegedly taking out his frustrations on several mailboxes Monday morning. Martin Allen Roberson, Jr., 32, was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) and faces multiple charges of criminal mischief.

The incident unfolded around 8:47 a.m. on May 26th in a Lakeland neighborhood near Lakeland Hills Boulevard and Lake Luther Road. Deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person reportedly punching and kicking a mailbox.

Upon arrival, deputies located Roberson walking nearby. Authorities noted that he had visible cuts, bruises, and blood on both of his knuckles.

Further investigation in the neighborhood revealed a total of three mailboxes that had sustained damage consistent with the reported actions.

When questioned by a detective about the damaged mailboxes, Roberson reportedly admitted he “probably did it” and stated he was “just blowing off steam.”

Roberson was taken into custody and transported to the Polk County Jail. He has been charged with three counts of criminal mischief.
