HAINES CITY, Fla. – A Monday evening burglary-in-progress call led to the arrest of a Lakeland woman with a lengthy criminal history, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported. Deputies responded to a residence on Shamrock Road in Haines City around 6:20 pm on May 5th after receiving a report of an active burglary.
A PCSO deputy located the suspect still at the scene and took her into custody.
The woman initially identified herself as “Brianna.” However, when the deputy requested her date of birth, the suspect refused to cooperate, stating that the information was unnecessary.
Despite the lack of cooperation, the deputy utilized available resources to uncover the suspect’s true identity, and “Brianna” was revealed to be a 31-year-old Felicia Michelle Essa of Lakeland.
Deputies say that Essa was already on probation for a previous burglary conviction. Additionally, she had multiple outstanding warrants for her arrest in Polk County, including: burglary of a dwelling, two counts of burglary of a conveyance, four counts of resisting without violence, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
