LAKELAND, Fla. – Just after midnight on Wednesday, a deputy with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrested a Lakeland woman with a lengthy criminal history on an outstanding warrant.
According to the PCSO, a deputy made contact with 53-year-old Mattie Irene Tyler in the area of Edwards Avenue and Morrow Street in Lakeland. Authorities confirmed Tyler had an active warrant for burglary and grand theft.

Tyler was reportedly candid with the deputy, admitting to having crack cocaine and a crack pipe in her possession. According to the Sheriff’s Office, she expressed little concern regarding the potential drug charges but was notably upset about the outstanding warrant.
“Let’s just say she didn’t care about the crack and crack pipe charge…but she was for darn sure mad about that warrant,” said PCSO on X.
Tyler was taken into custody and transported to the Polk County Jail.
