LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. – Motorists traveling on State Road 54 in the Land O’ Lakes, Lutz area should brace for significant traffic delays starting Friday night and continuing through Saturday.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, two of the three eastbound lanes on SR 54, stretching from US 41 to just west of Osprey Lane, are slated to be closed for roadwork.
The lane closures are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, May 16th, and are expected to remain in effect until 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 17th.

This timeline is weather-dependent, and officials note that the work could potentially be completed and the lanes reopened as early as Saturday morning.
However, drivers are strongly advised to prepare for the full duration of the anticipated closures.
The work involves the final stages of void remediation directly east of the busy intersection that serves the Lowe’s and Village Lake shopping center.

While all traffic movements to side streets and driveways within the affected area will remain accessible, significant congestion and longer-than-usual delays are anticipated on SR 54 and for traffic approaching SR 54 from US 41.
