MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A trespassing call at a Little Torch Key resort on Wednesday morning escalated, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on multiple charges, including falsely reporting a crime and possession of drugs.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was initially called to Parmer’s Resort around 10:30 a.m. regarding Larselle Andre Estes, 37, of Wisner, Louisiana. Resort management requested that Estes be trespassed from the property. Deputies issued the trespass warning, and Estes was released at the scene.

Also present at the resort was Kayla Daun Reams, 33, of Big Pine Key, Florida, who was wanted on a warrant. Reams, however, fled before deputies could apprehend her for that existing warrant related to a resisting arrest charge.

As deputies and officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission searched for Reams, a 911 call was received reporting a domestic incident involving a firearm on Big Pine Key. Investigators determined that this report was fake.

The Sheriff’s Office located Estes nearby and concluded that he had allegedly made the bogus 911 call in an attempt to divert law enforcement resources from the search for Reams.

Despite the alleged diversion tactic, authorities were ultimately successful in locating Reams in the area.

Both Estes and Reams were arrested and transported to jail.

Estes faces charges of falsely reporting a crime, misuse of the 911 system, obstruction of justice, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reams was charged with resisting arrest and multiple counts of possession of controlled substances for various pills found in her possession.
