Mann Middle School Student Arrested For Threatening To Bring Gun To School

BRANDON, Fla. – A 14-year-old student at Mann Middle School was arrested today by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly making electronic threats to bring a gun to the school.

The HCSO’s School Threat Assessment and Response Team (START) was alerted to the threat earlier today, April 21, 2025. Following an investigation, the child was taken into custody without incident.

“The safety of our schools is non-negotiable,” stated Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Every threat is treated with the utmost urgency, and those who choose to jeopardize the security of our students and staff will be held accountable.”

At this time, detectives have indicated that they do not believe Knight had access to any weapons. The investigation remains ongoing.
