MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Marion County woman was sentenced to two life terms in prison yesterday after being found guilty of the murder of her father and the attempted murder of another victim. Christina Anne Adams, 33, was convicted by a jury of Premeditated Murder in the First Degree and Attempted First Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon following a brief deliberation period.

The verdict came after jurors heard compelling testimony and reviewed irrefutable evidence in the case. Judge Timothy McCourt handed down the sentence of two life sentences for the murder of 74-year-old Richard Langer and the attempted murder of a second individual, whose name has not been publicly released.

The Fifth Judicial Circuit Chief Assistant State Attorney, Walter Forgie, commented on the verdict, stating, “Our fundamental duty is to seek justice, and in pursuing this goal, we strive to provide closure for the victims and their families while ensuring accountability for those responsible. Today, as difficult as it has been for the victims and their families, I believe we’ve gotten just that.”

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a stabbing incident on September 16, 2022, at a residence off SE 70th Terrace in Ocala. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two victims suffering from multiple stab wounds.

While receiving aid, Richard Langer identified his daughter, Christina Anne Adams, as the person who had stabbed them. Authorities issued a law enforcement alert bulletin, which led to a traffic stop of Adams’ vehicle shortly thereafter. Her wife was also in the vehicle.

Both Adams and her wife were taken into custody for questioning. Adams’ spouse informed law enforcement that she had been running errands before meeting Adams at a grocery store and had not noticed anything unusual about her behavior, nor did Adams mention any altercation.

However, when detectives questioned Adams, her account of events differed from her wife’s statement. Under further questioning, Adams eventually confessed to attacking both victims after becoming upset about being told she would have to move out.
