PLANT CITY, Fla. – A thirteen-year-old student at Marshall Middle School was arrested Monday by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) after allegedly leaving handwritten notes in a school bathroom threatening a mass shooting.

The 13-year-old female student was taken into custody by HCSO’s School Threat Assessment and Response Team (START) after the threatening notes were discovered. The START team, specifically trained to handle school safety concerns, immediately launched an investigation.
