A Miami man was taken into custody on Friday after a K9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics during a traffic stop on U.S. 1. Bobby Eugene Mosby, 55, faces a string of serious drug-related charges, including trafficking in fentanyl.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred near Mile Marker 32 on U.S. 1. During a traffic stop, K9 Mako, a canine officer with the Sheriff’s Office, conducted an exterior sniff of Mosby’s vehicle and indicated the presence of illegal substances.

  • 3.5 grams of crack cocaine
  • 0.3 grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy)

In addition to the felony charge of trafficking fentanyl, Mosby was also charged with the sale of cocaine, use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony, possession of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mosby was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
