Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota said Friday that the People’s Republic of China might be the “moral authority” of the world, despite that country carrying out a genocide.
Israel launched a series of strikes on Iran Thursday, killing top Iranian military leaders and nuclear scientists while also attacking the regime’s nuclear program. Walz questioned whether the United States could broker peace in the Middle East due to a perceived lack of neutrality during an appearance with the Center for American Progress.

“Now, who is the voice in the world that can negotiate some type of agreement in this? Who holds the moral authority? Who holds the ability to do that? Because we are not seen as a neutral actor, and we maybe never were,” Walt said at the event. “I don’t want to tell anybody that. I think there’s a lot of people who say you always lean one way in this, but I think there was at least an attempt to be somewhat of the arbitrator in this. We saw President Carter do it with Begin and Sadat.”
“We’ve had certain wins along the way that were actually mutually beneficial both ways,” Walz continued. “Now I ask who that is. I mean, consistently over and over again, we’re going to have to face the reality, it might be the Chinese.”
During his time as a teacher in Nebraska, Walz allowed Chinese Communist Party officials with ties to the Chinese People’s Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), which is part of China’s intelligence and influence operations, into his classroom.

Asian Americans For Progressive America (AAPA), which has been involved in protests against enforcement operations by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that have led to riots in Los Angeles and other cities, has ties to a Chinese Communist Party front group, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation.
China has viewed its persecution of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang Province as a “tremendous achievement,” according to internal regime documents obtained by the Victims of Communism Foundation. Chinese President Xi Jinping reportedly ordered the abuses in a series of secret speeches in 2016.
As many as 2 million Uyghurs are being held in camps by the Chinese government, according to some estimates. The first Trump administration declared that genocide was taking place in the communist nation shortly before leaving office in January 2021.

China also has targeted Christians for persecution, censoring internet searches for terms like “Jesus,” “Savior” and “Amen” on WeChat, a popular social media site in the communist nation.
