HOMOSASSA, Fla. – A 64-year-old Missouri man was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross US-19 late Friday night, according to preliminary reports from authorities.
The crash occurred just south of Ivy Place around 11:22 p.m. when a Chevrolet Traverse, driven by a 55-year-old Homosassa resident, was traveling southbound on U.S. 19.

Details remain sparse, but investigators indicate that the pedestrian, identified as a Branson, Missouri man, unexpectedly entered the vehicle’s path.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on-site.
The driver of the Chevy Traverse, along with a 23-year-old Homosassa woman who was a passenger in the vehicle, were reportedly uninjured in the crash.
