Pasco County Sees Two Fatal Structure Fires On Wednesday In Holiday, Zephyrhills

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Fire Rescue crews responded to two separate fatal structure fires across the county on Wednesday, May 7, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

The first incident occurred in Holiday at approximately 5:40 a.m. Firefighters arrived at the 1900 block of Sparkle Lane to find two vehicles and a trailer fully engulfed in flames.

The severity of the fire necessitated the closure of Mile Stretch Road in both directions as emergency responders worked to extinguish the blaze and secure the scene.

During a primary search of a nearby structure, crews discovered one deceased dog and one person with life-threatening injuries. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to their injuries.

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation by the Pasco County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Later in the morning, just after 9 a.m., Pasco County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a single-story home fire in Zephyrhills. Heavy smoke was visible to crews as they arrived at the 3500 block of Brisa Drive.

A primary search of the residence led to the discovery of one deceased person inside the home.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the Pasco County Fire Marshal’s Office are jointly investigating the cause of this second fatal fire.
