Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV On US-19 In Citrus County

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla.- A pedestrian was killed overnight after being struck by an SUV on US-19 in Citrus County. The fatal incident occurred shortly after 10:20 PM just south of the US-98 intersection.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old woman from Citra was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on US-19 when an unidentified female pedestrian attempted to cross the highway.

The pedestrian reportedly entered the path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck.

Emergency services responded to the scene, but the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the Ford Explorer was not reported to have sustained injuries.
