TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police Department officers are currently investigating a serious vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred earlier today at the intersection of West Kennedy Boulevard and Lois Avenue.
According to initial findings from the ongoing investigation, an adult male attempted to cross Kennedy Boulevard when he entered the path of an oncoming vehicle. The incident resulted in the pedestrian sustaining life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders were promptly dispatched to the scene, and the injured man was transported to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and is reportedly cooperating fully with police investigators as they work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As a result of the incident, the westbound lanes of Kennedy Boulevard are currently closed at Lois Avenue. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and expect traffic delays in the area.
The Tampa Police Department has stated that this remains an active investigation.
