Far-right political activist Laura Loomer is facing backlash on social media after commenting on New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s appearance in a recent post.

Loomer shared a video of AOC at the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City on Sunday. AOC is seen talking to a crowd while sporting a red dress as she joined NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani at the parade.

“Yikes. AOC has gained at least 50 pounds since getting into Congress,” Loomer wrote on X. “She’s getting massive.”

Social media users were quick to comment on Loomer’s post, which has attracted 21,000 comments as of Monday evening.

“Don’t do this. Please. Attack her policies and corruption all day. Leave the body shaming alone,” one user commented.

“You look like a science project went off the rails and you’re talking about someone else’s looks??” another person wrote.

“You are the last person who should comment on someone’s appearance, Looner. You’re a walking plastic surgery nightmare,” said another.

“She looks great, and you know it. She might have gained 15-20 lbs. She is not ‘massive’. She’s not even overweight.  This is a petty, mean-spirited post,” another user commented.

X users found a photo of Loomer wearing a similar dress to the one AOC is wearing in Sunday’s video.

“You’re built like this and wanna talk about AOC’s looks?? Oof,” a social media user said.

Two hours after her original post, Loomer wrote, “Why are people so triggered by me pointing out the fact that AOC is a porky Puerto Rican!?”

People in the comments continued to call out her behavior.

“I love you, Loomer, but leave that alone. Not sure why you’re saying this. We’re better than them until we start acting like them. Come on girl! We lead by example not revenge,” an X user wrote.

AOC has not publicly responded to Loomer’s comments.
