POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Mulberry man is behind bars after being apprehended by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) in connection with multiple burglaries dating back to February.
Fermin Solomon Silas Gallegos, 31, of Mulberry, was taken into custody on Monday, April 28th, bringing an end to a period during which he evaded authorities.
The investigation began following two burglaries that occurred on March 21st. The first incident involved a burglary on Canal Street, followed by a business burglary on Badcock Boulevard. PCSO investigators were able to connect these two crimes, identifying Gallegos as the primary suspect.

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for Gallegos’s arrest. However, attempts to locate him proved unsuccessful until Monday morning.
At approximately 10:40 am on April 28th, PCSO deputies responded to a reported disturbance on Badcock Boulevard. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Gallegos hiding in the rear of the residence. He was taken into custody without incident.
During the arrest, Gallegos was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Further investigation revealed additional details about Gallegos’s criminal activity. In an interview with a detective, Gallegos confessed to the two burglaries that occurred on March 21st. He also admitted to an additional business burglary that had taken place earlier, on February 25th.

Fermin Solomon Silas Gallegos has been arrested and subsequently transported to the Polk County Jail. He is now facing a string of serious charges, including burglary of conveyance, two counts of burglary of a business, two counts of felony petit theft, felony criminal mischief, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
