A new survey of voters in 72 targeted Congressional districts reveals that several key components of the House Republican’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” enjoy significant popularity, according to a memorandum released today by Fabrizio, Lee & Associates.
The polling firm, in a memo addressed to “Interested Parties,” detailed strong majority support for various tax and policy measures central to the proposed legislation.
The survey, conducted from May 6-8, 2025, among 1,200 registered voters, indicates that specific tax relief measures are well-received. Notably, 63% of respondents favor “ending the federal income tax on tips,” while 59% support “ending federal income tax on overtime pay.”

Furthermore, a proposal to extend the tax cuts for individuals enacted during President Trump’s first term, which are due to expire at the end of 2025, garnered 61% approval. The polling memo states this extension “would save the average American taxpayer up to 2,800 dollars per year.”
On matters of law enforcement and border security, the bill’s provisions also tested favorably. A significant 68% of voters in these key districts back “providing funding and equipment for the U.S. Military to disrupt illegal drug supply chains and other forms of illicit trafficking in order to support U.S. law enforcement in their fight against drug cartels.”
Additionally, 57% of respondents favor “hiring nearly 40,000 additional ICE and Border Patrol agents to address illegal immigration as well as drug and human trafficking.”

The survey also highlighted strong support for reforms related to Medicaid. A substantial 72% of those polled favor requiring able-bodied, working-age adults who receive Medicaid to at least look for work or participate in community service part-time in order to retain their Medicaid benefits.
The memo notes this measure “would save America taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars over the next 10 years.” Closely related, 68% of voters support “strengthening Medicaid eligibility integrity, which would require states to better screen enrollees and immediately end coverage for people who are ineligible, saving American taxpayers over $ 100 billion over the next 10 years.”

The methodology statement accompanying the memorandum details that the interviews were conducted via a mix of live-operator cell phone calls (35%), live-operator landline calls (25%), and SMS-to-web surveys (40%). The demographic makeup of the respondents (including gender, age, race/ethnicity, party affiliation, and education) was matched to profiles of registered voters in the targeted districts using voter file and census data. The margin of sampling error for the survey is ±2.83% at a 95% confidence interval.
Key Demographics of Survey Respondents:
- Party Affiliation: Republican 32%, Independent 26%, Democrat 35%, Other 4%
- Race/Ethnicity: White 66%, Latino/Hispanic 19%, African American/Black 7%, Asian American 4%, Native American/American Indian 2%
