TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – A routine Friday afternoon on Treasure Island Beach took a serious turn as emergency crews responded to a possible drowning and a separate medical incident.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. a 911 call alerted authorities to a potential drowning near the 120th Avenue beach access. Bystanders were reportedly performing CPR on an individual when the call was made.
Multiple agencies, including Treasure Island Fire Rescue, Treasure Island Police, Madeira Beach Fire Rescue, St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue, and Sunstar, arrived promptly at the scene. First responders discovered an unconscious, non-breathing individual who had been pulled from the water. Advanced Life Support measures were immediately initiated.

After approximately 20 minutes of continuous life-saving efforts on the beach, the patient was secured and transported to an awaiting ambulance located in the parking lot at 11260 Gulf Boulevard. The individual was then rushed to Palms of Pasadena Hospital. As of the latest reports, the patient’s condition remains unknown.
While emergency personnel were managing the initial incident, a second medical emergency unfolded nearby. Another individual was reported to be unresponsive and vomiting. This person received treatment at the scene. Further details on their condition or the circumstances of this second incident have not yet been released.
Authorities are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
