St. Petersburg Police Make Second Arrest In October 2024 Homicide Of Anthony Ly

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Datrik Pettis, 24, was arrested today in connection with the death of 20-year-old Anthony Ly. Pettis has been charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Anthony Ly was fatally shot on the evening of October 30th, 2024, in a driveway located in the 2800 block of 16th Ave. S. According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Ly had arranged to meet with Pettis and Eddie Smith at this location. An altercation occurred, resulting in Ly being shot.

Detectives previously arrested 26-year-old Eddie Smith on November 7th, 2024, also for Felony 1st Degree Murder.

Authorities continued their search for Pettis, and with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, detectives apprehended him early this morning.
