TAMPA, Fla. – In observance of Memorial Day, the City of Tampa offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025. This closure will also impact regularly scheduled solid waste collection services for both residential and commercial customers.
City officials have announced a revised schedule to ensure services resume smoothly following the holiday.
Residential Customers: There will be no trash collection for residential customers on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. Normal residential collection schedules will resume on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Commercial Customers: Commercial customers will also experience a service interruption on Memorial Day. Collection services will resume on Tuesday, May 27, and will operate on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week, through Saturday, May 31, 2025. For example, customers normally serviced on Tuesday will receive service on Wednesday, and so on.
McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House: The McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House, located at 114 S. 34th St., will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. It will reopen with its regular operating hours on Tuesday, May 27.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed about their specific collection schedules by downloading the Tampa Trash and Recycling app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Important Note for New Tampa Residents: Residents in the New Tampa area are advised to contact Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for information regarding their holiday collection schedule, as their services may differ.
