TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Tampa man in connection with a stabbing earlier this month that left a victim with serious injuries. Curtez Frazier, 22, is facing an Attempted Murder in the First Degree with a Weapon charge following an investigation into the violent incident.

Deputies responded to a call concerning a possible altercation in the 12000 block of University Club Drive in Tampa on May 9, 2025, at approximately 7:05 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a victim suffering from a stab wound to the upper body, resulting in great bodily harm. Through investigative work, detectives identified Frazier as the primary suspect. He was taken into custody without incident on May 20, 2025.

“This was a violent and deliberate act, and there is no place for that in our community,” stated Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the determined efforts of our deputies and detectives, a dangerous individual is now behind bars and facing justice.”

Authorities noted that Frazier has a prior criminal record. He was released from the Florida Department of Corrections on February 6, 2025, after serving a three-year sentence for charges including Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
