HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A confrontation over unpaid wages escalated into a terrifying ordeal last week, culminating in a man allegedly pointing a firearm at his former employer’s head and firing a shot that narrowly missed. The suspect, identified as Rajache Greenlee, 34, has since been apprehended following a swift multi-agency effort.

The dramatic incident unfolded on Saturday, June 14, 2025, when Greenlee confronted his former employer at a construction site on Versailles Drive in Tampa.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the encounter stemmed from an ongoing monetary dispute. During the heated exchange, Greenlee reportedly brandished a handgun, pressed it against the victim’s forehead, threatened to kill him, and discharged a round that narrowly missed.

The violence didn’t end there. Greenlee then allegedly forced his way into a residence under the victim’s care, causing over $1,000 in property damage and stealing a nail gun before fleeing the scene.

Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office quickly identified Greenlee as the suspect, and an arrest warrant was issued. Their efforts, aided by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, led to Greenlee’s location and arrest in Pinellas County on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Greenlee is now facing a litany of serious charges, including:

  • Attempted Second-Degree Murder
  • Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
  • Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony with a Weapon
  • Armed Burglary of a Dwelling
  • Robbery with a Firearm

Sheriff Chad Chronister condemned Greenlee’s actions, stating, “This was a reckless and violent outburst that could have ended in tragedy. Pointing a firearm at someone’s head and pulling the trigger over a financial dispute shows an alarming disregard for human life. There is no place for this kind of behavior in our community.”
