TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced a temporary closure of Nebraska Avenue, just south of Busch Boulevard, on Saturday, May 31st. The closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow CSX Railroad to conduct essential paving operations at the railway crossing.
Motorists traveling both northbound and southbound on Nebraska Avenue will be unable to cross the CSX railroad tracks during the specified hours.
A detour route has been established to navigate around the work zone. Drivers will be directed to use Waters Avenue, Florida Avenue, and Busch Boulevard.

To guide motorists effectively, electronic message boards and clearly marked detour signs will be positioned along the affected routes.
FDOT officials urge drivers to plan for this closure and anticipate increased traffic volumes on nearby roads. Commuters are advised to allow for extra travel time or seek alternative routes to avoid delays. The temporary closure is critical for ensuring the safety and longevity of the railroad crossing and roadway surface.
