TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers on East Osborne Avenue are in for a detour starting this morning. The Tampa Water Department has announced a full road closure on a stretch of East Osborne Avenue between North 31st Street and North 32nd Street, slated to begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
The shutdown is necessary for crews to repair a water main break in the area.
As the 10 a.m. start time approaches, officials have stated that barricades and signage will be deployed to redirect traffic and manage the flow around the work zone.

Drivers are strongly advised to proceed with caution if their routes take them near the affected area and to be prepared for potential delays or necessary adjustments to the traffic plan as repair work unfolds.
The Tampa Water Department is optimistic that the repairs will be wrapped up and the roadway reopened to normal traffic by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 30. However, this timeline remains dependent on favorable weather conditions, which could influence the pace of the repair efforts.
