TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters using Bayshore Boulevard should prepare for traffic adjustments starting this morning due to emergency water main repairs.
Beginning at 9 a.m. today, the outside southbound lane of Bayshore Boulevard will be closed to traffic between South Boulevard and South Newport Avenue. The closure is necessary for Tampa Water Department crews to repair a water main break in the area.
Officials have indicated that barricades and directional signs will be positioned to help manage traffic flow around the work zone. Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution and be alert when traveling through this section of Bayshore Boulevard.

The repair work is expected to continue for one week. The Tampa Water Department anticipates completing the repairs and restoring normal traffic patterns by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Authorities note that the work schedule is contingent upon weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances during the repair process might require modifications to the plan.
