Titusville Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Early Morning Shooting

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A local man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery following a shooting incident that occurred in Titusville early Saturday morning. The victim, an adult male, sustained gunshot wounds but is expected to survive his injuries.

According to the Titusville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Garden Street and S Grannis Avenue on Saturday at approximately 4:17 AM in response to a reported shooting. Arriving officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers on the scene immediately began providing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. Authorities have indicated that the victim is expected to survive.

Titusville Police Detectives quickly initiated an investigation and were able to develop vital information, including a name and description of a suspect, which established probable cause for an arrest. Within two hours of the initial call, the suspect was located and taken into custody.

The arrested individual has been identified as Calvin L. Woodson, a 33-year-old resident of Titusville. Woodson is facing charges of one count of Attempted Murder and one count of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

Woodson is currently being held at the Brevard County Detention Center on a no-bond status.
