DAVENPORT, Fla. – A routine traffic stop for speeding resulted in an arrest on an outstanding warrant Tuesday evening in Davenport.

Steven Marcano, 43, of Davenport, was arrested by a Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy after being pulled over on Ernie Caldwell Boulevard.

According to the PCSO, the deputy clocked Marcano’s vehicle traveling at 57 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. During the traffic stop, a records check revealed that Marcano had an active warrant for his arrest out of Orange County.

The warrant was for a felony battery charge. The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately release details surrounding the specific incident that led to the Orange County warrant.

Officials reported that Marcano was cooperative with the deputy during the encounter. However, due to the active warrant, he was taken into custody without incident.

Marcano was subsequently booked into the Polk County Jail on the Orange County warrant.
