HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A late-night traffic stop escalated into a dramatic pursuit on Monday, May 19, 2025, culminating in the apprehension of two teenagers after their motorcycles struck a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy and two patrol vehicles.
The incident began around 11 p.m. and involved the HCSO’s Aviation Section and Street Crimes Unit.
According to the HCSO, deputies attempted to stop two motorcycles without license plates. The operators of both vehicles, identified as Issac Curz, 16, and Tyler Lebron, 17, immediately fled the scene, initiating a chase.

The HCSO Aviation Section provided aerial support, allowing deputies on the ground to maintain a safe watch as the motorcycles sped through the area. The pursuit concluded when the motorcycles reached a dead end at Jefferson Road within the Jefferson Equestrian Area in Thonotosassa.
As deputies moved to block the entrance to the parking lot and approach the stopped motorcycles, both teens allegedly attempted to flee once more. In their attempt to escape, the motorcycles struck a deputy and two HCSO vehicles. The deputy sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
Following the collisions, Curz and Lebron were taken into custody without further incident.

“For these teens, one reckless decision nearly changed everything for themselves and our deputies,” said Sheriff Chronister. “We need young people to understand that choices like this come with serious consequences and endanger the lives of those sworn to protect you.”
Details regarding the specific charges faced by Curz and Lebron have not yet been released.
