HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a fatal overdose in Riverview has resulted in a man being charged with first-degree murder. The arrest comes over a year after the initial incident.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a medical emergency call at a residence on Hancock Street on November 19, 2023. Upon arrival, they found Jordan Johnson, 23, unresponsive. Johnson was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day.

Detectives identified Quadrian Harris, 32, as the individual suspected of supplying the narcotics that led to Johnson’s death.
Harris was initially arrested on November 30, 2023, on charges of Trafficking in Fentanyl (4–14 grams) and Resisting Arrest without Violence. At the time of this arrest, he was reportedly in possession of an additional 14 grams of fentanyl. He was released on bond on December 2, 2023.
The investigation remained ongoing. In April 2024, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) confirmed that controlled substances collected as part of the case tested positive for fentanyl.

Detectives subsequently presented their findings to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, which approved a charge of First-Degree Murder resulting from the Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
On May 6, 2025, the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Harris in Tampa. He was taken into custody without incident on the murder charge.
“This arrest is a reminder that drug dealers who poison our communities with deadly substances will be held accountable,” said Sheriff Chronister. “This was not just a drug deal. It was a deadly transaction that cost a young man his life. We remain committed to pursuing justice for every victim and their loved ones.”
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office stated that this is an active investigation.
