WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – Firefighters are gaining the upper hand on the Wondering Willow Wildfire, which has burned four acres in Wesley Chapel. As of the latest update, the blaze is 80% contained, and its forward progress has been halted.
Crews from the Florida Forest Service (FFS) Withlacoochee Forestry Center and Pasco County Fire Rescue, including units from Station 22 “Dueces Wild,” are on the scene. They continue to work on strengthening containment lines and addressing any remaining hot spots.

Earlier today, the Florida Forest Service reported they were responding to the wildfire, initially of an unknown size, located off Thistle Field Court and River Glen Boulevard.
Importantly, officials have confirmed that no structures are currently threatened by the fire.
Residents in the Wesley Chapel area may still see smoke, but authorities are working diligently to extinguish the wildfire fully.
