‘You’re Next Joe’ U.S. GOP Lawmaker Says Next President’s Involvement in Overseas Deals Warrants Impeachment

If Democrats wanted to make impeachment a more political, less effective tool to hold the president accountable, they just might have succeeded.

Newly elected U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said this week that she will file articles of impeachment against Joe Biden the day after he becomes the nation’s 46th president.

The Georgia Republican’s measure will go nowhere with Democrats in control of Congress.

That, however, did not seem to faze her.

“If they want to lower the bar on what impeachment is then, yes, let’s roll with it,” Greene said in an interview on Wednesday with Greg Kelly of Newsmax TV.

“Americans want this to happen. Americans are sick and tired and fed up.”

Greene added, “We don’t need a man serving in the presidency of the United States who is guilty of committing the crime of abuse of power and is under investigation with Hunter Biden’s laptop, his very own son. This is not the direction our country needs to go in and I hope my Republican colleagues agree with me.”

As Biden takes office, his son, Hunter, is the subject of an FBI probe. The younger Biden admitted to that last month well after the election was over.

The FBI is looking into whether Biden failed to pay taxes on some of his overseas earnings.

But Hunter Biden’s business dealings with corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs and high-ranking members of the Chinese Communist Party have proven problematic for his father.

The elder Biden had said that he had no knowledge of his son’s business connections. But since October documents obtained by investigators and Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, have revealed that Hunter was seeking a cut from those deals for his father, and with his father’s full knowledge.

Greene said, “I’m tired of Republicans who lay down and allow this country to be ravaged, allow Democrats to abuse their power in their positions, and I believe it’s time for Republicans to stand up for the American people and do a good job in Congress.”

“The American people need hope; they need to know there are Republicans in Congress that are willing to stand up and fight for them, regardless of being in a minority, regardless of having all odds against us, against me, or against anyone in Congress,” she said.

In the interview, Greene also noted the ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden, and his connections to Chinese communists.

“This is a dangerous threat to our country, when we have a man that will be holding the power of the presidency but will so easily and is on record for abusing power,” Greene said.

“These people need to be held accountable. Republicans have not been strong enough in doing that.”
