1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured When Ejected From Pickup Truck In Winter Haven Crash

POLK COUNTY, Fla. - A 66-year-old Winter Haven man was killed in a crash around 9:06 pm on Sunday.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 66-year-old Winter Haven man was killed in a crash around 9:06 pm on Sunday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Winter Haven man was traveling northbound on 1st Street North in a pickup truck. 

Troopers say at the intersection of Avenue Q Northwest a car turned left and the pickup truck collided with the sedan.

Both the driver of the pickup truck and his passenger, a 64-year-old Winter Haven man, were ejected from the truck.

Troopers say the car traveled to the outside shoulder and came to a stop after colliding with a building located at 118 Ave Q NW. 

Transported to an area hospital, the driver of the truck died from injuries suffered. Troopers say the passenger of the truck suffered serious injuries, while the driver of the car involved, an 18-year-old Winter Haven man, suffered only minor injuries.
