ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 12-year-old girl has been shot, and police are actively investigating the shooting Saturday night.
Police say that about 9:35 p.m. Saturday, they received a call about shots fired at the Childs Park Recreation and Fitness Center, 4301 13th Ave. S.
An officer on patrol nearby saw several juveniles run from the area.
When the officer arrived on the scene, a 12-year-old girl had been struck by a bullet in the leg.
She was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
No suspect has been arrested. This is an active investigation, and we will update this story as more details are released.
