16-Year-Old Clearwater Boy Hit By Train While Walking On The Tracks

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL. – A 16-year-old Clearwater boy was hit by a train while walking on the tracks Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say around 4:12 pm Thursday, the teen was walking on the railroad tracks adjacent to SR-590, just west of McMullen Booth Road.

The teen failed to see a westbound CSX freight train and was struck, according to FHP.

FHP says the boy was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.
