17-Year-Old Frostproof Girl Dies in Tragic ATV Accident Saturday

DUETTE, Fla. – A tragic accident involving two teen girls on an ATV, claimed the life of a 17-year-old Frostproof girl Saturday.

According to Florida Highway patrol, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a side by side All-Terrain Vehicle, driven by a 16-year-old girl from Bowling Green girl, with a passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Frostproof, was traveling on private property at 10355 State Road 39.

As the driver attempted to negotiate a curve, the ATV overturned, causing both driver and passenger to become separated from ATV. The passenger a 17-year-old girl died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was transported to a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
