18 and 20-Year-Old Women Seriously Injured in St. Pete Motor Scooter Crash

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg Police are investigating a serious injury crash involving a motor scooter at the intersection of 22nd Avenue North and 44th Street.

Shortly after noon today, two women ages 18 and 20, were riding on a motor scooter (small engine motorcycle) southbound on 44th Street South.

They ran the stop sign at 22nd Avenue South, drove around an eastbound vehicle at the intersection, and struck the side of a second eastbound vehicle in another lane.

The motor scooter driver and passenger both suffered serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

This crash is still under investigation.
