19-Year-Old Charged in Hit and Run That Killed a 7-Year-Old Pasco Boy

PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A 19-year-old Port Richey man has been charged in the hit and run accident that took the life of a 7-year-old Port Richey Boy Saturday.

Shaun Elliott Wyrich,19, turned himself into authorities on Sunday and has been charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving a Death and No Motorcycle Endorsement.  The motorcycle involved in the crash was recovered at a residence located on Fox Hollow Drive.

The crash happened Saturday night at the intersection of Regency Park Boulevard and King Arthur Drive in Port Richey, around 9:23 p.m.

Troopers say the 7-year-old boy was walking with his mom and siblings and crossing Regency Park Boulevard when Wyrich, traveling at a high rate of speed, collided with the child and fled the scene.

Transported to an area hospital, the child died from injuries sustained during the crash.

Wyrich,19, has been booked in the Pasco County Jail.
