Two Dead In Tampa Shooting on N. Brooks St., Police Investigating

TAMPA, Fla.- On Monday, Tampa Police were dispatched to the report of a shooting in the 8100 block of N. Brooks St. Officers arrived to find an 18-year-old black male, in a black sedan, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

During the initial stages of the investigation, it was reported there was a second shooting victim who was not located at the scene. It was also reported there had been an earlier altercation between two groups in the same area. The groups left, only to return and exchange gunfire.

Police say that about an hour after the original call, the Tampa Police Communications Center received notification that the second gunshot victim, a 27-year-old black male, had been transported by private vehicle to Advent Health on Fletcher Avenue.

The 27-year-old died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

Tampa Police Homicide Detectives are continuing this active investigation, interviewing witnesses, and working to develop leads on what led to the shooting.
